As the new year begins, it’s the perfect time to start thinking about content for your blog or social media channels. If you’re feeling stuck or just need some inspiration, here are a few ideas to get you started in January.

Don’t forget, that you can use these a long-form content ideas like blog posts, live videos that you host on YouTube or for podcast episodes. There are many different niches represented here, so take an ideas and apply it to help your customers.

New Year’s resolutions: January is all about setting goals and making resolutions for the year ahead. Consider creating a post about your own resolutions or asking your audience to share theirs. You could also offer tips and resources for sticking to resolutions or brainstorm ideas for achievable goals.

Winter fashion: With the colder weather in full swing, now is a great time to share your favorite winter fashion trends and outfits. You could create a “winter wardrobe essentials” guide or do a round-up of cozy, stylish pieces to help your audience stay chic during the chilly months.

Comfort food recipes: There’s nothing quite like a warm, comforting meal to chase away the winter blues. Share your go-to recipes for soups, stews, casseroles, and other hearty dishes that are perfect for the cold weather. You could even do a series of posts featuring different comfort food recipes from around the world.

Self-care tips: The start of the year is a great time to focus on taking care of ourselves, both physically and mentally. Consider sharing some self-care tips and ideas, such as creating a relaxing at-home spa day, practicing mindfulness, or finding ways to reduce stress.

Organizational ideas: The start of a new year is also a great time to get organized and declutter. Share some of your favorite organizational tips and tricks, such as creating a daily routine, setting up a home office, or finding ways to streamline your daily tasks.

This can also work for your clients as a business owner. You can share with them how you organize to do what you do, or a way that helps them get to the next step in their goals.

Fitness goals: If one of your resolutions is to get in shape, consider sharing your fitness journey and offering advice and encouragement to your audience. You could write about your workouts, share healthy recipes, or offer tips for staying motivated.

This is a perfect idea if you are in the wellness, workout, fitness space.

Travel planning: If you’re dreaming of future vacations and travel, now is a great time to start planning. Share your travel goals and destination ideas, and offer tips for budgeting and saving for trips. You could even do a series of posts featuring different travel destinations and what to see and do there.

If you write about lifestyle ideas, travel plans are a fun topic to explore in January.

Book recommendations: If you’re an avid reader, consider sharing your favorite books or book recommendations with your audience. You could do a monthly book club-style post or a round-up of must-read titles in a particular genre.

You should have some content based around what books, or even courses your client, audience or customers should read. For example, since I do branding work, I recommend for people to read/watch “How to Build a Story Brand“. This gets them prepared to work with me and makes our time so much more productive.

Product reviews: If you’ve tried out some new products recently, consider sharing your thoughts with your audience. You could do a monthly product review post or a series of reviews on different products.

This works great for affiliate entrepreneurs. Round up your favorite tech software, books, skincare items or some other collection to help your readers. Since you can monetize this kind of content, it’s a win-win to include it in your content topics.

Personal growth and development: The start of a new year is a great time to focus on personal growth and development. Share your own journey and experiences, and offer advice and encouragement to your audience. You could write about topics such as goal setting, finding your passion, or overcoming challenges.

And recommend to them the current courses and such that you are working on now. Pick one a month and share your review with your audience.
